This is the homepage for our the Orange & District Football Association
There is some interest in how many people visit this site so here is a counter which started on April 11th, 2006.
Please bear with me while I learn about facebook. We are developing an ODFA page. It is hoped that clubs will be able to post information there, particularly about registrations.

Player & spectator behaviour
THis is obviously a hot topic at this point of time in Orange. We are currently looking at ways to address some of the issues we have had in the past which means we are losing quite a few referees each year as they are tired of being abused. THe refereees association have made a point of regularly having sessions with their members to make sure they are up to date and always looking to improve. As an association, we are asking teams to be aware of the behaviour of their players and spectators. Action will be taken for serious or persistent incidents. There should be officials at each ground with identifying jackets so please make them aware of any issues that you notice during games. |

Match Cards
We will be using the same match cards as last year. The important information isAge Group, Date, Field, Team names and Score preferably written as a word (eg ONE, TWO etc) to avoid confusion.
It is also important to note that if you sign the Match Card with an incorrect score then according to the rules the score on the card stands. If both teams agree then I'm happy to change the score but check before you sign. New match cards are now being printed and should be ready now. There are some at Brabham in the referees room. Here is a sample of the Match Card for people to see the information that is required. |

No smoking at Brabham
Jack Brabham Park has been declared a no smoking zone. Anyone who is found smoking at Brabham will be asked to stop or leave. I believe the carparks around Brabham are included in the no smoking zone. |

Brabham Map
I have updated the map of Brabham. and have also done a guide to Waratahs fields. They are a bit rough but hopefully they make sense. I am also hoping to follow up on a suggestion with more contact details for the association. In the mean time people can either contact me via email or tha Association postal address is PO Box 1273, Orange 2800. |

Small Sided Games
Hopefully everyone is aware that Football Australia has introduced small sided games for Under 6s to 9s. The Mini-Soccer Rules link on the left has the rules for the new games. This year the U6s & U7s play 4v4 or 5v5 on a 20m x 30m field. U8s & U9s will play 7v7 with a goalkeeperon a 30m x 40m field. The booklet from FFA is avaialble to download fromhttp://www.footballnsw.com.au/index.php?id=217. There is also a study done on small sided games in Scotland. Click on the link to see the study. |
| Tournaments I would like to add details of other competitions on this website. For example the Bathurst 7-a-side is always on the middle weekend of the July school holidays. There is a tournament in Cumnock on a Sunday in June . Other towns also hold carnivals and hopefully I can keep you up to date with details here. |

Website update
The website has now changed to www.orangefootball.org.au and it should automatically from the old site for the next year. Also note the change in the email address. The link has the new adddress but people who don't use the link will need to update their address book. |
I am quite happy to accept ideas for what we should have on this page. If clubs want to put a page on here then let me know. I won't have time to do up all the pages but will be more than happy to help you to do it. It is then easy for me to post it onto the website. If you have any ideas you can email me (Ewan Powell) at
People might be interested in visiting our neighbours Bathurst at their website. I would appreciate it if there aren't too many comments on how much more professional their website is. Thanks to Casey Benson for tips on website design.
